If you are a Sports enthusiast and wish to test your knowledge, this event is for you.

 

XL ARENA, organized in association with the Sports committee at XLRI (SportsCom), aims to test the knowledge of sports as well the managerial skills of the top managers in the making of the country.

The event will be divided into 2 rounds. The first round will be an online round, which will be conducted prior to the main event. The top 8 teams will make it to the final round. The battle is going to begin at the XL ARENA and you just cannot miss it.

 

Round 1

The online round – “WebHunt” will be of 30 minutes wherein teams will be given clues to 26 sports personalities/teams/events and they need to identify the same. In addition to this, they will have few more questions on sports, which they need to answer.

 

Round 2

The on-campus round will be conducted during the main event, in which the top 8 teams from the online round will test their managerial skills. This round will be divided into multiple stages.

 

Stage 1: - The teams will be provided with a pool of 30 sports persons, from which they will pick up their own squad of 5 players. The teams will be asked to select their squads through an auction for a fixed timeline, say 2000-2011. Each player will have his/her own “Comprehensive Index” (CI), which will be used to calculate the “Overall Value” (OV) of the squad. At the end of this stage each team can earn a maximum of 50 points and a minimum of 10 points on the basis of the OV of its squad and the remaining money with the team.

 

Stage 2: - The teams will now be provided with a shorter timeline and at the end of the input, they will be given an opportunity to trade a maximum of 2 players. This trading can also be done keeping in mind the advantage of having a particular player in a future stage.

The rules of the auction, trading and parameters considered will be explained at the time of the event.

 

Note: - The CI will be calculated on the basis of a formula created by the organizers, which will take into account all significant parameters, important for a sportsperson.
