XLRI & Colgate-Palmolive present War of Wits, the flagship HR event, organized by SAPPHIRE, the Human Resources Management Association at XLRI.

It is a business labyrinth dotted with HR mines that can blow off any unsuspecting practitioner. Once a participant enters, he or she must solve the riddles and adapt to dynamic cues. These riddles revolve around person–job fit, creating an employer brand, developing strategies for retention and architecting an entire performance management system for a client. The unique feature about this event is that the sponsor can choose to be the client itself and get suggestions for real-world problems. It will be judged by top HR leaders of the country and the HR Strategy professors at XLRI.

Online Round

The first round in the event is a time-based online round. Teams will be required to register for War of Wits before 1400 hours on 13th October. 10 cases will be sent to each team in a locked pdf file on the same night. The event shall begin once the team receives the password for the file. Each team shall have 3 hours to solve and submit their case solutions after receiving the password.

• The submissions must not exceed 300 words per case
• The entries must be submitted in the form of PDF.
• The font size is 12 and the line spacing is 1.5.
• The entries must be named as WOW_TEAM NAME_INSTITUTE NAME
• The subject in the mail must be WOW_TEAM NAME_INSTITUTE NAME
• The first page of the submission must contain at the top names, contact details, the course details and the institute of the participants.

On-Campus Round

• Short listing- From the entries of the online round, the best 6 entries would be short listed for the on campus round.
• The on campus round would be a 3- round event. All the short listed teams would be part of all the three rounds and the final results are the cumulative results of the three rounds. The details of these rounds would be intimated while on campus.

Results: Ensemble War of Wits Online Round Results

• This event is open to students from all the management institutes in India.
• The teams must be formed with exactly 3 students. The students can be from any function and both first/second year students can participate.
• One student cannot be a part of multiple teams and each team cannot send more than one entry.
• References must be mentioned wherever necessary in the entries.

REIMBURSEMENT POLICY

• All participants visiting campus will be reimbursed to and fro 3rd AC rail fares upon submitting a copy of their tickets
• For those travelling by flight, 3rd AC rail fares will be reimbursed upon submitting a copy of their boarding pass
• The shortest distance between the participant's B-School and XLRI will be considered
• The to and fro reimbursement together for an individual will be capped at Rs. 3000/-
