Strike or Yield

Strike or Yield is a one-of-a-kind event, the only Industrial Relations management event in the entire country. This is the where business walks the tight rope between labor and management – to balance power, peace and productivity.

 

Organized by The Forum for Industrial Relations Association at XLRI (Fire@X), Strike or Yield pushes the best strategists in Industrial Relations to generate solutions for the most burning IR issues in India. The event will comprise of multiple rounds testing negotiation, collective bargaining, conflict management and knowledge of the intricacies of labor law, with the roll out of each decision impacting subsequent rounds. The event will be judged not only by the top leaders in management, but also by trade union leaders and senior XLRI professors.

 

Online Round

Case Study

  • This round will be a short listing round for candidates to be called upon for Ensemble at XLRI, Jamshedpur

  • Your task is to analyze the case and give your observations and recommendations

  • The solutions are expected to be original, innovative and relevant to HR and IR concepts

  • Based on the solutions received, 6 teams will be shortlisted for the final round (on campus)

  • Your entry has to be in Times New Roman, Size 12, Line spacing 1.5

  • The submission has to be in pdf format

  • The naming convention is “TeamName_Institute name”

  • The document should contain details (phone numbers and email addresses) of all the members

 

On-Campus Round

  • The details of this round will be communicated later to shortlisted teams.

  • The event is open to management graduate students to participate in a 2 phase contest

  • A team must consist of exactly 3 participants and all the participants in a team have to be from the same institute

  • Any team or individual cannot be a part of more than one entry. Each entry involving such duplications is liable for disqualification

  • The total analysis should not exceed 3 pages

  • The shortlisted teams have to attend all the rounds
