Operations Management never looked so good. Welcome to Helios – the flagship operations event organized by The Association at XLRI for Industrial & Operation Management (AXIOM).
For an entire day, the Top Ops need to live and breathe Kaizen, six sigma, 'plant-within-plant', squeezing lead times, killing inventory and forecasting errors, maximizing throughput and optimizing cost and quality. Teams will have to contend with some real-time number crunching to streamline information and material flows, enhance supply chain management and improve the productivity. A wild ride awaits our contestants as they battle constraints and beat deadlines in their quest to become top dogs. Let the games begin!
Online Round
A case study will be provided and the participating teams have to provide recommendations on the number of warehouses required, the location of these warehouses and the number of retail outlets required corresponding to each warehouse. The challenge is to achieve this objective at the minimum possible Cost.
- The entries must be named as HELIOS_TEAM NAME_INSTITUTE NAME
- The subject in the mail must be HELIOS_TEAM NAME_INSTITUTE NAME
- The entry must contain at the top names, contact details, the course details and the institute of the participants.

On-Campus Round
Shortlisting
The case submissions from the first round will be judged and the top 6 submissions will qualify for the next phase of Helios which will happen on campus.
Event Description
The On-campus event will comprise of simulation games in the fields of Production Planning & Logistics Management.

- The event is a team game; a team can have maximum 3 students
- All the participants in a team have to be from the same institute but not necessarily from the same batch.
- Any team or individual cannot be a part of more than one entry. Each entry involving such duplications is liable for disqualification.
REIMBURSEMENT POLICY
- All participants visiting campus will be reimbursed to and fro 3rd AC rail fares upon submitting a copy of their tickets
- For those travelling by flight, 3rd AC rail fares will be reimbursed upon submitting a copy of their boarding pass
- The shortest distance between the participant's B-School and XLRI will be considered
- The to and fro reimbursement together for an individual will be capped at Rs. 3000/-
