Genesis- the Social B-Plan Competition

A good manager always has a distinct social vision. We at Ensemble applaud your social conscience and give you an opportunity to give a solid direction to this vision.
The Indian Angel Network in association with Ensemble 2011 brings to you ‘Genesis - Social B-Plan Contest’. Here’s an opportunity to get a seed funding of up to one million dollars from one of the biggest names in the Venture Capital Domain, Indian Angel Network, and directly implement your path-breaking ideas.

 

ONLINE ROUND

 

  • A softcopy of the executive summary not exceeding 2000 words has to be submitted
  • Entries should be sent in PDF format
  • Along with the summary please mention the following
    • Name
    • Institution, Programme, Batch 
    • Contact Number
  • Subject  Line of the mail/File Name of the entry : <Competition Name>_<College name>_<Team Name>
  • E.g. Genesis_XYZ College of Management_TeamX
  • 6 teams will be shortlisted for the next round

 

ON-CAMPUS ROUND

 

  • The shortlisted teams have to submit the final plan before the deadline
  • The teams would then present their plan to an elite panel of judges
  • The entries would be judged on their social relevance and feasibility by a seasoned investor

 

Results: Ensemble Genesis Online Round Results

  • Participants should form teams of maximum 3 members
  • The competition is open to B-School students only
  • Team members may be from different B-Schools
  • No member should be a part of more than one team
  • Each team can submit only one B-plan for this event
  • The competition is open to all students of all programmes and all batches of your institute.
  • Once submitted the executive summary would be sealed from any changes until the next round
  • The organizers' decision shall be final and binding.
 

REIMBURSEMENT POLICY

 
  • All participants visiting campus will be reimbursed to and fro 3rd AC rail fares upon submitting a copy of their tickets
  • For those travelling by flight, 3rd AC rail fares will be reimbursed upon submitting a copy of their boarding pass
  • The shortest distance between the participant's B-School and XLRI will be considered
  • The to and fro reimbursement together for an individual will be capped at Rs. 3000/-

Sanjay Bhasin

 

Mr. Sanjay Bhasin is President & CEO –  Telecom at inTarvo Technologies (www.intarvo.com), an Integrated Lifecycle Management company for technology products. inTarvo offers implementation, commissioning, O & M for active and passive telecom equipment such Base Stations, Microwave Radios, Solar Systems etc. In addition to this, inTarvo offers energy services to telecom tower companies which includes energy efficiency, remote management services, energy generation services using solar and fuel cell technologies etc.


Prior to inTarvo, Sanjay was CEO - Tubes & Laminates Business at Essel Propack Ltd, Mumbai, India. Prior to Essel Propack, Sanjay Bhasin was head of GSM and WCDMA Base Station business in Nokia Networks, Finland. In this capacity, he was responsible for P&L of this global business. Sanjay has deep understanding of running a high-technology product business at a global scale. He joined Nokia in India in 1995 at the very start of the cellular telephony revolution in India. Over the years Sanjay has had multiple roles in Nokia based in India, UK and Finland.


Prior to Nokia, Sanjay lived in Santa Clara, USA and was working for Intel Corporation as Product Marketing Manager for Intel Pentium™ processor.


Sanjay is a graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering from IIT Roorkee (was University of Roorkee) and holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara.


Sanjay is Managing Trustee of Acara Institute India (www.acarainstitute.org) - an NGO promoting social entrepreneurship among students in leading  US and Indian universities.
